Our Mission is to see the world changed through developing fruitful disciples of Jesus who transform their communities by multiplying disciples of Christ.

CrossConnect is more than just a course. We are passionate about making it an effective disciple making environment. And so, we have developed three values that are at the heart of everything we do – whether it be inside or outside the classroom. 

These three values make up our DNA.

1. Relational Discipleship

Journeying with Jesus is all about relationships! Following Jesus’ highly relational model we help you to develop gospel-based disciplines that grow your relationship with God, enable you to develop Christ-like character, and form life-changing relationships with others so that you become what Jesus wants you to make.

2. Practical Theology

Journeying with Jesus is all about practical theology that is, knowing and experiencing Him in a way that changes us and others! Following Jesus’ Bible-based ministry approach we equip you to interpret, understand, and explain the Scriptures in a way that helps you and others to personally encounter Jesus and to develop a biblical world view.

3. Intentional Mission

Journeying with Jesus is all about being on mission with Him! Following Jesus’ intentional hands-on training model, we equip you for service by learning together in community and then serving together in a variety of real-world community settings.

CrossConnect is a highly intentional, relational, and Spirit-shaped training community, focused on developing disciple makers who live with purpose and impact. We want to see you grow into a fruitful disciple maker grounded in sound theology and equipped with practical ministry skills. These skills will serve you in your church, in your leadership, and in your everyday discipleship as you follow God wherever He leads.

Our 42-week program includes 31 weeks of training, 5 weeks of ministry experience, 2 weeks for orientation and graduation, and 4 weeks of holiday breaks. The course is full-time (20 hours per week), running from February to November, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–3:00pm. Experienced, qualified trainers deliver sessions face-to-face or live online via Zoom.

In addition to the daily training sessions, students are to be involved in:

• Daily devotions and weekly discipleship small groups.
• The local church, serving in various ministries including Bible study groups, youth groups, and Sunday worship.
• Short-Term Mission trips, a primary or youth camp, and a holiday club.
• Discipleship Training Sessions and Ministry Training Sessions which are designed to keep us focused on becoming better at ministry activities and disciple makers using contemporary methods as demonstrated in the life of Jesus.

The schedule allows time for you to engage in community activities like sports and casual work. Social events are planned for students and the GLO community to encourage fellowship and building deeper connections.

CrossConnect is based in the GLO Training Centre in North-West Sydney. For those who choose to attend in person, classes are held at 15 Hamilton St, Grantham Farm, NSW, Australia.

The cost of the CrossConnect discipleship training, comprises of the following components; Tuition, Ministry Experience, and Accommodation;

The Ministry Experience expenses include an overseas short term mission trip and youth camp. Ministry Experience costs are subject to change depending on local conditions, travel cost, event type, and duration.

Accommodation

GLO Ministries can provide accommodation to CrossConnect students, located just a 5-minute walk from CrossConnect. Here you will be living in a house sharing arrangement with your own bedroom and a shared kitchen, loungeroom and bathroom. You will need to provide your own meals and bed linen. Spaces are limited so please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested.

Holiday Breaks

We have three holiday breaks throughout the course (Easter, mid-semester one, and mid-semester two). We encourage students to travel and explore the various parts of Australia during this time.

The training will be delivered as one blended course; this means you can attend the course in one of two ways.

1. In the classroom, face-to-face here at GLO Ministries.
2. Or live through virtual online sessions via video conferencing apps from wherever you live. 

Throughout your training you will undertake a range of theoretical and practical training and complete formal assessments. Students also experience ministry and discipleship training as they interact and serve in a church and its community.

• Minimum age 18

• Completed Year 12 or equivalent

• Read, write, comprehend, and speak at a minimum IELTS level of 5.5 (General)

• Have a Christian faith

• Be responsible for personal travel to and from GLO

• Have a personal laptop with word processing programs, a camera, and microphone

• If you are studying from home, you will need an internet connection that is strong and consistent for connection to the virtual class via Zoom.

• Have a current valid email account

• Hold a valid passport and visa upon starting the course

The CrossConnect course will provide you with the skills and knowledge commonly used in church ministries, with a sound theological understanding, and contemporary discipleship practices that can help you to develop a sound personal faith in God, establish other disciples through discipleship related activities. 

Applications of these skills include personal spiritual disciplines and growth, making presentations, communication in ministry, studying the Bible deeply and accurately for yourself, being able to preach or teach the Bible to others, discovering biblical themes, developing sound relationships, confidence in using apologetics, evangelism, serving in children’s and youth ministry, developing and implementing multiplying discipleship practices, leadership principles for use in ministry and the church.

This is a non-accredited course therefore there will be many different modes of assessment, including, journals, short question and answers, role play, scenarios, presentations, demonstrations, and portfolios. The course has been designed to be practically based as you demonstrate your skills and knowledge.

CrossConnect classrooms are equipped for both face-to-face and live online learning. Our spacious, modern communal areas are designed for relaxing, cooking, and sharing meals—creating great opportunities for relational discipleship and community life.

We offer a range of support services to ensure students are safe and environments are conducive to learning. Where specific learning resources are required, we will endeavour to provide access, to ensure students are not disadvantaged in their learning.

CrossConnect can offer three pathways for you when you graduate.

Graduates are encouraged to apply their skills and knowledge in all areas of life (work, education, and leisure), within their local churches and in the discipleship of others wherever they go in voluntary or employed ministries.

Graduates can complete more training within GLO.

CrossTrain (Practical training, A non-government degree)
Graduates may choose to undertake a second-year option that focuses on cross-cultural mission work. This is a 6 to 12-month residential based course for those who require training to do ministry in cross-cultural settings.

CrossWork (Practical training, a non-government degree)
Graduates can also further develop their local church-based ministry skills and theology through a 6 to 12 month internship program in the CrossWork program. CrossWork functions in a partnership between GLO Ministries and either the student or the student’s home church.

ACCS DIPLOMA OF THEOLOGY (Accredited)
Graduates could also complete training with ACCS (Australian College of Christian Studies). The Diploma of Theology is an accredited qualification and is delivered via blended learning.
