What is the purpose?
We desire to see you develop into a fruitful disciple maker with sound theology and practical ministry skills.
These skills can be used in your church community in ministry, in leading, and in discipleship as you serve God wherever you go. CrossConnect uses a laser sharp highly intentional, relational, and spiritual discipleship training community that is committed to developing intentional disciple makers.
Our 42 week program consists of the following; 30 weeks of non-accredited training, ministry experience (5 weeks), orientation and graduation (2 weeks), and holiday breaks (5 weeks).
Training
This program is full-time (20 hours/week of training), runs from February to November, Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Experienced qualified trainers travel to deliver the course units face-to-face or connect live, virtually via Zoom.
In addition to the daily training sessions, students are to be involved in:
Daily college devotions and weekly discipleship small groups.
A local church and to serve in its various ministries as much as possible. Including ministries like Bible study groups, youth groups, and Sunday worship.
Real world experiences; a Short-Term Mission trip, a primary or youth camp, and a holiday club.
Specific ministry and Discipleship Training Sessions, which are designed to keep us focused on becoming better disciples who can make disciples using contemporary methods as demonstrated in the life of Jesus.
The schedule allows time for you to engage in community activities like sports and casual work. Also, social events are planned for students and the GLO community to encourage fellowship and relational connections.
Where is the training done?
CrossConnect is based in the GLO Training Centre in North-West Sydney. For those who choose to attend in person, classes are held at 15 Hamilton St, Grantham Farm, NSW, Australia.
If you elect to access the training virtually online, then the course is trainer-led online via Zoom.
WHEN DOES IT RUN?
Mid February to late November.
This includes training, orientation week, graduation week, ministry experiences, optional non-accredited training, and holidays.

WHAT WILL IT COST?
CrossConnect is one of the most affordable residential training communities in Australia. Even when combining tuition and accommodation fees, students will find our fees hard to beat.
The cost of the CrossConnect discipleship training, comprises of the following components; Tuition, Ministry Experience, and Accommodation;

Ministry Experience costs
These costs exclude your Ministry Experience expenses which could include an overseas short term mission trip, and youth camp or a holiday club. Ministry Experience costs are subject to change depending on local conditions, travel cost, event type, and duration.

Accommodation
GLO Ministries Australia can provide accommodation to CrossConnect students, located just a 5-minute walk from CrossConnect. Here you will be living in a house sharing arrangement with your own bedroom, sharing a kitchen and bathroom. You will need to provide your own meals and bed linen. Spaces are limited so please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested.

GLO Ministries Australia does not accept payments of more than $1,500 at any one time and offers course fee payment plans to all successful applicants. Additionally all applicants have a 10-day cooling off period after submitting their application without loss. For further information please review the policy at crossconnect.glo.org.au/policies.
How do I Participate?
The training will be delivered as a blended course. This means you can attend the course in one of two ways;
- In the classroom, face-to-face here at GLO Ministries Australia.
- In live, virtual online sessions via Zoom from wherever you live.
Throughout your training you will undertake a range of theoretical and practical training and complete formal assessments.
Students also experience ministry and discipleship training as they interact and serve in a church and its community.
All self-directed learning is structured, compulsory self-paced learning activities. Examples include; reading through workbooks, watching pre-recorded training content, and completing associated tasks for assessment. Content like training resources and assessments that are required for study are always accessible though the Student Portal.
WHAT IS THE STUDENT ENTRY LEVEL?
- Minimum age 18
- Completed Year 12 or equivalent
- Read, write, comprehend, and speak at a minimum IELTS level of 5.5 (General)
- Have a Christian faith
- Be responsible for personal travel to and from GLO
- Have a personal laptop with word processing programs, a camera, and microphone
- If you are studying from home you will need an internet connection that is strong and consistent for connection to the virtual class via Zoom.
- Have a current valid email account
- Hold a valid passport and student visa upon starting the course
WHAT ARE THE COURSE PREREQUISITES?
None.
WHAT SKILLS WILL I LEARN?
The CrossConnect course will provide you with the skills and knowledge used commonly in church ministries, sound theological understanding, and contemporary discipleship practices so that you can develop a sound personal faith in God and be able to serve in a variety of church and discipleship related activities.
Example applications for these skills include personal spiritual discipline and growth, making presentations, communication in ministry, studying the Bible deeply and accurately for yourself and being able to teach the Bible to others, discovering biblical themes, developing sound relationships, confidence in using apologetics, evangelism, serving in children’s and youth ministry, developing and implementing multiplying discipleship practices, leadership principles for use in ministry and the church.

How will I be assessed?
This qualification is competency based and is gained by providing evidence of skills and knowledge. The course has been designed to be practically based where you demonstrate your skills and knowledge through a variety of assessment procedures including, journals, short question and answers, role play/scenarios, presentations, demonstrations, and portfolios.

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
We offer a range of support services to ensure students are safe and environments are conducive to learning. Where specific learning resources are required, we will endeavour to provide access, to ensure students are not disadvantaged in their learning.
PATHWAYS
CrossConnect can offer three pathways for you when you graduate from CrossConnect. Graduates are encouraged to apply their skills and knowledge in all areas of life (work, education, and leisure), within their local churches and in the discipleship of others wherever they go.
VOLUNTARY OR EMPLOYED MINISTRY
Use the skills, knowledge, and discipleship practices gained in the CrossConnect course to serve in various church and para-church ministries.
CROSSTRAIN (NON-ACCREDITED)
Graduates may choose to undertake a second-year option that focuses on missions. This is a 6-month residential based course for those who require training to do ministry in cross-cultural settings.
CrossWork (Non-accredited)
Graduates can also further develop their local church-based ministry skills and theology through our non-accredited 6 –18 month internship program in the CrossWork program. CrossWork functions in a partnership betwee GLO Ministries Australia and either the student or the student’s home church.
ACCS DIPLOMA OF THEOLOGY (Accredited)
Accredited Theological Qualification through Australian College of Christian Studies delivered via blended learning.
